UNDERWATER LIGHTING TECHNOLOGY
EVAsubaqua is EVA Optic’s LED underwater lighting for professional applications such as water parks, public swimming pools and diving pools, as well as private pools. Underwater lighting is permanently installed below the waterline, and EVAsubaqua is engineered for years of performance under the most demanding conditions.
Each colour has the full 50 watts of LED power available, ensuring equally powerful and uniform illumination in every colour. The light is completely airtight, fully encapsulated and pressure-resistant up to 15 bar. The cable is permanently pressure-sealed directly to the light. Deliberately without a connector, because underwater, every connection is a potential weak point for leakage. All electronics remain dry and accessible in the technical room.
Why EVAsubaqua
4 × 50 watts for red, green, blue and white. Full light intensity in every colour.
All four LED colours originate from a single light point and blend into one uniform colour in the water.
Sensitive electronics remain dry and accessible in the technical room, rather than underwater.
Each light is individually current-controlled for consistent light output, even with different cable lengths.
Our in-house developed cable is pressure-sealed directly to the light for a reliable, permanently watertight connection.
The light is completely airtight, encapsulated and engineered for permanent underwater use.
THE PRINCIPLE
EVAsubaqua provides 50 watts of power for each LED colour. Choose a colour below and see how the full 50 watts remain available for every solid and mixed colour.
Compact through smart engineering
The benefits of a 200W RGBW light, with the compact dimensions of a 50W light. An EVAsubaqua A50 RGBW deliberately contains 200 watts of LED hardware, four times as much as conventional RGBW lights where 50 watts is divided across four colours.
The light uses a maximum of 50 watts at any one time, ensuring the same light intensity in every colour while allowing the fixture to remain compact. Because the light is cooled by the pool water, a light actually operating at 200 watts would need to be considerably larger. This is how EVAsubaqua combines compact dimensions with powerful, uniform illumination in every colour.
Pure colour
EVAsubaqua uses a 4-in-1 multichip LED: red, green, blue and white are combined within a single LED point. This allows the colours to blend into one uniform colour, without the coloured edges that occur when separate red, green, blue and white LEDs are positioned next to each other.
Dry technology
EVAsubaqua deliberately keeps sensitive electronics outside the pool. Only the LEDs and temperature protection are located underwater. Each light has its own driver, installed dry and accessible in the technical room.
Only the LEDs are underwater. Each light has its own driver installed dry in the technical room, providing both power and control. This means servicing can almost always be carried out in a dry and easily accessible location.
The driver is integrated into the same underwater module as the LEDs, powered by a single voltage source for all lights. If a fault occurs, it can therefore quickly become an underwater service issue — in the least accessible location.
The electronics are installed dry and accessible in the technical room. Maintenance or replacement can therefore be carried out without removing the underwater light from the pool.
Our drivers regulate current rather than voltage. This means a light installed 30 metres from the technical room is just as bright as one with only 1 metre of cable.
Voltage is always lost over a long cable, so in a voltage-controlled system a light further away will operate at a lower output. Our driver maintains the set current and automatically compensates for this loss, without requiring thicker cables or installation calculations.
NO WEAK LINKS UNDER WATER
The connection between the cable and the light is critical in any pool lighting system. We pressure-seal the cable directly to the light using a connection developed in-house, eliminating the need for an underwater connector that could eventually leak.
The connection withstands 15 bar of water pressure — far beyond anything encountered in a swimming pool. This is also why EVA underwater lights are used in military diving pools operated by the Dutch Ministry of Defence.
EVA underwater lights demonstrably comply with IEC-EN 60598-2-18, the international safety standard for underwater lighting in public swimming pools. The standard sets requirements for watertightness, impact resistance and electrical safety.
Underwater lighting projects
The same EVAsubaqua technology is used in both private pools and professional projects where high standards apply to light output, safety and service life.
