Yes. EVAsubaqua A-series underwater lights with a flat cover are suitable for pools with a movable floor. Make sure the floor does not stop directly in front of the underwater lights. The lights are cooled by the pool water and therefore require sufficient water circulation around them.

If the movable floor stops just a few centimetres in front of the light, cooling may be insufficient. The built-in overheating protection safeguards the light and switches it off if the temperature becomes too high.

EVAsubaqua underwater lights are water-cooled and must remain fully submerged during operation. For applications where lighting is exposed to both wet and dry conditions, EVAhydra has been developed. These lights are based on the EVAsubaqua A-series and feature an aluminium heat sink, providing sufficient cooling even when they are out of the water.

Keep it dry in the equipment room. The EVA underwater light contains only the LEDs and a temperature protection device. In most other lights, the driver is housed in the same underwater module as the LEDs.

Each EVA light has its own driver that regulates current rather than voltage. Voltage is always lost over a long cable. In a system that regulates voltage, a light with a long cable may therefore shine less brightly. Our driver automatically compensates for this loss, ensuring that a light with a 1-metre cable shines just as brightly as one with a 30-metre cable, without the need for thicker cables or complex calculations during installation.

Because the electronics are installed in a dry and accessible location in the plant room, maintenance remains straightforward. There is no need to drain the swimming pool, and nobody has to work in the crawl spaces around the pool.

Operation depends on the type of light and whether the system includes a swimming machine. Single-lamp units – fixed-colour underwater lights – do not require an ECA. They are controlled using 0–10 Vdc switching equipment and can be integrated into a home automation system.

RGBW underwater lighting without a swimming machine is controlled by ECA Lighting, using the EVA Web app for operation. This version cannot be combined with an EVAstream and cannot be expanded with external control options. The EVAsubaqua underwater lights can also be connected directly to a home automation system, without ECA Lighting. This is the standard setup for public projects.

Within the EVA System, the RGBW underwater lighting, together with the EVAstream, is controlled by ECA System 1, 2 or 3, including the EVA Web app. This can optionally be expanded with EVA Basic Remote, EVA System Remote and EVA Piezo controls.

Because in a swimming pool you don’t want spot lighting, but rather even illumination right down to the bottom. A single bright lamp creates a bright centre with dark corners, which makes for an unpleasant swimming experience. Several soft light sources illuminate the water evenly, without casting shadows. Spreading light works better in water than concentrating it, which is why we would recommend an extra lamp rather than increasing the power from a single source.

An EVAsubaqua A50 RGBW has a total of 200 watts of LEDs, spread across four LED colours. Up to 50 watts is available for each colour. The light can therefore deliver 50 watts of LED power for any selected light colour.

With many other RGBW lights, the specified power is distributed across the four LED colours. We therefore state 50 watts per colour rather than the total power of 200 watts. This gives a clearer picture of the power available for the selected light colour.

For many RGBW underwater lights, the specified power rating is the total power of all four LED colors combined. As a result, when using a single color, only a portion of that power is available. For a 50-watt light, for example, that might be 12.5 watts for a single color and 25 watts when two LED colors combine to form a mixed color.

An EVA RGBW underwater light is designed differently. Up to 50 watts is available for each LED color. As a result, the light can deliver 50 watts of LED power for any selected color. For a single color, that’s up to four times as much as with a conventional 50-watt RGBW light, and for a mixed color, up to twice as much. This keeps the light level much more consistent across different colors.

RGBW stands for red, green, blue, and white. With these four LED colors, you can mix any desired light color in the pool, and the separate white channel provides a pure white that you cannot achieve with just red, green, and blue. With the EVA RGBW underwater lights, these four colors are combined into a single 4-in-1 multi-chip LED—all in one light source—so they blend into a single, uniform color in the water. Lights with separate red, green, blue, and white LEDs show a color separation at the edges, where you can see the individual colors separating rather than blending into a single pure color. The EVA RGBW lights are available in a bright white version and a warm white version, depending on the ambiance you want to create in your pool.

No, EVAsubaqua underwater lighting is optional. Anyone who wants to swim in the evening will quickly come to appreciate the lighting. You choose the ambiance yourself, from bright or warm white to virtually any color you desire. Even when no one is swimming, the lighting gives the pool and the surrounding garden a unique character.

In the EVA System experiences “Get Active” and “Train like a Pro,” the underwater lighting also plays a functional role. When swimming in a counter-current, you stay in the same spot, and the lanes and turn points that normally provide orientation are missing. EVAsubaqua restores that orientation with light. Each exercise follows a fixed pattern of three colors, allowing you to recognize how the exercise is progressing by the color changes and adjust your effort accordingly.

EVAsubaqua is available in various models and wattages, with a fixed light color in bright white or warm white, and as an RGBW version where you can choose the color or shade of white yourself. The lights are compact, and replacement accessories are available for many common brands. As a result, existing underwater lights can often be easily replaced with EVAsubaqua.

A mono underwater light emits a single fixed light colour, available in bright white or warm white. An RGBW light combines red, green, blue and white in a single 4-in-1 multi-chip LED, allowing you to mix any light colour and play colour programmes. The IP rating indicates how well a luminaire is protected against dust and water. IP68, also referred to as IPX8 when only water resistance is relevant, is suitable for permanent use underwater. EVAhydra and EVAsubaqua are designed for this purpose. IP53 is intended for use above water, where a luminaire must be protected against dust, moisture and splashing water but is not submerged.

Yes. With ‘Get Active’ and ‘Train like a Pro’, EVAsubaqua underwater lighting can provide visual guidance during your swimming training. When swimming against the current, you remain in the same spot. This means you don’t have the lanes and turning points that naturally provide orientation when swimming laps in a standard swimming pool.

Colours and light signals take over this orientation function and show you whilst you’re swimming when you need to exert yourself, recover or when the next part of the session begins. This means you don’t have to keep looking at a clock or display and can concentrate fully on your swimming.

Outside of training sessions, you can use the EVAsubaqua lighting independently of the EVAstream for mood lighting in the pool.

The EVA underwater light is cast in an airtight mould and is pressure-resistant up to 15 bar, well above what a swimming pool would ever require. The cable is crimped to the light using a connection developed in-house, thus eliminating the need for a separate underwater connector that could fail and start to leak. EVA underwater lights demonstrably comply with IEC-EN 60598-2-18, the international safety standard for underwater lighting in public swimming pools, which sets out requirements for watertightness, impact resistance and electrical safety. EVAsubaqua lights are installed, amongst other places, in the Ministry of Defence’s diving centres.

EVA underwater lights have separate electronic components which are installed in a technical room for easy installation and maintenance. The light itself contains only the LEDs, so the electronics are not submerged. Each light has its own driver that regulates the current, ensuring that every light shines with the same brightness and intensity regardless of the cable length for each light.
