Noorderparkbad Amsterdam
Noorderparkbad in Amsterdam-Noord is a modern public swimming pool where sustainability, functionality and architecture are closely connected. Low energy consumption and minimal environmental impact were key considerations in the design.
EVA Optic supplied a complete lighting concept for various areas throughout the swimming complex, with professional lighting both above and below the water.

Project in pictures
The distinctive diamond-shaped wooden roof structure required lighting that would integrate into the design both functionally and aesthetically. Black anodised EVAline linear lights were therefore incorporated into the ceiling.
The linear lights blend seamlessly into the roof structure and provide uniform illumination. The required 500 lux, and 600 lux at the starting and turning points, are comfortably achieved.
EVAsubaqua provides powerful underwater illumination and good visibility throughout the pool.
From EVAline integrated into the wooden ceiling and subtle Downlights to EVAsubaqua below the water, the lighting is tailored to the architecture and function of each area.
Above the recreational pool, as well as in the entrance area, changing rooms and various wet areas, EVA Classic Aqua HE Downlights are used. These have been specifically developed for the demanding swimming pool environment, with heat, humidity and chlorine vapours.
Noorderparkbad has received several awards for its distinctive architecture, including the Amsterdam Architecture Prize and the title of “Most Beautiful Public Swimming Pool in the World” at Piscine Global in Lyon.
